Sitra Ahra
Thursday - 4th February 2010I'm happy to announce that Therion are now entering the later phases of the recording of the new album, which will be mixed at the legendary Polar Studios in Stockholm. The album title will be Sitra Ahra. 13 songs are being recorded, but it is at this moment not certain which, or if all, of those will end up on the actual record.
Oh, and Therion is going to Graspop!
Gigs in Mexico
Thursday - 21st January 2010Gigs for Mexico has been confirmed.
If anyone is wondering why some sites post gigs before the official website, and some even sell tickets, it is that in certain countries, they start selling tickets as soon as they have an OK from the booking agent over email, but no contracts have been signed. This site, however, does not consider a show booked until legally bound by signature.

Update: Fixed a date error. The Moscos gig is on the 5th of December, not on the 25th.
New album in the making

It has been a long time since you have heard anything new from Therion now, so I thought I should give a few updates.
As you may or may not know, Therion is in progress of recording a new album. As usual, Therion is being very secretive about the entire process, but I will reveal some details:
A new studio has been built for most of the recording of this album. The mix, and a few recordings, will be done at another studio - "A truly legendary studio!" according to Chris. Expect something spectacular, even by Therion's standards!
The recording will continue for the rest of the year, and probably also through January.
Also, a new website is still in the making. We are hacking away using the Symfony Framework. If you want to contribute, drop me a line. It is quite fun and easy.
Thomas joins Therion as a permanent member

We're very happy to announce that Christofer had a meeting with Thomas Vikström some week ago and offered him a permanent status in the band!
Chris: "Thomas is, besides being a very warm and nice person, an increadibly talented singer and songwriter. And while also being a classically trained tenor, he simply fits perfect to the band."
The band welcomes Thomas onboard and hope the fans will enjoy his contributions to Therion.
